I could never have imagined the Countrywide Tour that followed the launch of "TINTANIC" in the small hometown Villiers in June of 2017. It all started with a coffee tin and two rivets - and led to us showcasing the wonderful ship of my dreams to more than 10 million visitors! I owe a great world of thanks to every person involved in the South African Tour. Every decision maker at STALCOR, CONNECT CO, AMT COMPOSITES, STRONG BOND ADHESIVES, LASER CREATIONS & H&S TIMBERS is to be commended for committing to the "TINTANIC" idea. The many volunteers along our way who helped with whatever we needed - in many cases bystanders who were just interested in the unusual cargo, the movers and drivers in transport in the different cities who covered thousands of kilometers to get us around safely, trailer rental companies and the drivers with the correct code of drivers licenses who sometimes had to fly down to where we were to move us more than 3000 km and more across country in all sorts of terrain and weather. RINGABELLA TRANSPORT is thanked especially for the many long-distance cross-country routes and for always being available at a moment's notice - knowing the drill by heart and how to load and unload our precious cargo every time. The many storage facilities across South Africa who from time to time kept us safe and dry - and reported on the conditions when it was impossible to check for ourselves, and sometimes sending complimentary enclosed trucks to collect us wherever we were at the time - especially during COVID times when we became sitting ducks. The many tour locations that offered us close proximity to the sites and comfortable and sometimes luxury accommodations, especially Kwa-Zulu Natal accommodations that hosted us - we know it wasn't exactly easy to open your homes to a lot of touring people for a month. Out of all the assistants I have ever had the privilege to work with, my greatest thanks to Shania Gutherless on the KZN 2019 TOUR for being the most reliable trooper - anyone would be a fool not to hire you - you are the most dedicated, trustworthy and hardest-working person I have ever met. REALSCAN 3D took such care of us during COVID19 when public gatherings were restricted, a thanks for their 3D digital counterpart exhibition. The many Marketing Managers who took the telephone call seriously, then took this project to the boardrooms and pitched the concept to owners and upper management without flinching - and still managed to float the idea which took chunks of budget to accomplish - sometimes using up all the budget for the year. A GREAT BIG "hartfelt" THANK YOU! to the vintage soap brand VINOLIA - the original advertiser for the real TITANIC in 1912 and the distributors of this wonderful brand at AMKA for partnering with us on the South African Tour - your luxury is truly timeless. EYECANDY DIGITAL in George in the Western Cape Province, for the beautiful prints of our cabinet sleeves branded with VINOLIA florals - the overtime put in and the care in every perfectly calculated stitch which demanded such perfection - which then involved cross-country mailing of the units wherever we required them - they haven't faded one bit and they have been put through so much! I wish to make special mention and thank my friends Jill Carlier and co at the TITANIC BOOK CLUB *(USA), my dearest friend Valda Wessels *(South Africa) and Damon Hill *(Australia) - who have been instrumental in keeping me from sinking to the depths below - the faith they display in the "TINTANIC" project is a thing of absolute beauty and it is mostly what keeps me going no matter what. I could also not have done this without Leon Roets - a partner of STUDIO 401 *(PTY) Ltd. who has constantly been in the background all these many years - pushing me up and over every hill with total trust in the endeavors. Thank you all for making my line of work so incredibly unique and interesting and for giving us a fighting chance in the world to be remembered for something so special. In 2025, we will embark on our greatest journey yet - the International World Tour which will bring the "TINTANIC" to new audiences in foreign countries.
- Gino Hart.
And to those who didn't believe in us... you can put all that in your pipe and smoke it...
